Questionable return request
Hi all. I'm a fairly new eBay buyer and seller, mainly of trading cards with my 12 year old son. We recently sold a card that the buyer received and is now requesting a return, claiming that it arrived damaged. Our listing states "No returns accepted", but I realize a return can still be requested. I'm confident the item was shipped free of damage. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and hard place with it being a 'he said, he said' deal. I obviously don't want our reviews to potentially take a negative hit, but I also feel strongly that defect that the buyer is addressing and showing me with a picture, wasn't present when the card was shipped. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Mentor2 years agoThe card could have left you in good shape and been damaged by the carrier. Your recourse is to file a claim with the carrier, if you are sure you packaged it well.
If you want the item back before refunding, accept the return, as damage returns override no-returns. If you want file a claim with the carrier, tell buyer to kept the item and packaging for possible inspection and pickup, but you still need to refund by the deadline.

Just because there was no damage when you shipped it doesn't mean that it was not damaged when the buyer received it.
Ebay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers overrules your "No returns" policy.
Approve the return request, provide a prepaid return shipping label and refund the buyer after you receive the returned item. Or you can refund the buyer without requiring they return it.
