Question on Signing up for a Store?
I'm a fairly new seller, since last May 2024, and have wanted to expand and grow my business by signing up for the store membership by paying the monthly fee that increases your free listings from 250 each month to I believe it's 500 per month. However, what keeps holding me back is the fear where I read you get monitarily penalized if your sales fall below a certain level, or your percentage buyers rank you for feedback, etc. Both of those things are beyond my control. The algorithms are so screwed up. I will go 3 weeks and sell nothing and then BOOM, 12 ITEMS SELL WITHIN 3 DAYS!!! What is up with that? It is never a steady stream of sales. So I fear these penalties. I LOVE LOVE LOVE eBay but the listing prices are killing me now that I'm hitting 400 items vs 250 free ones. PLEASE advise what I should do. I hate to leave eBay for another platform that doesn't penalize. Thank you. Lori

Mentor1 year ago@frigid_dane. Since you have over 300 active listings I recommend you sign up for the basic store.
Only sign up for the Monthly plan and not annual that way you can cancel the store without penalty.
The one thing that many sellers say help is an active account so try to list a few things daily if possible.
Sales do often come in waves as you said because of the algorithm liking activity.
I don't think that feedback really plays much of a role. The important thing is your seller dashboard and not having defects.
