Question About Tracking Status and Buyer Protection
I purchased an item on January 16. The seller states that the item has shipped and is in transit, but the tracking number shows the carrier is still awaiting the item and it has not been dropped off.
Based on this discrepancy, I am concerned that the information I am receiving may not be accurate. Can eBay assist in cases like this, and what steps should a buyer take to avoid missing the refund window?

Mentor8 months agoIt doesn't mean it wasn't shipped. It means the seller did not get a scan from the USPS. This happens. No need to worry. You have been give good advice above, so until the estimated delivery date has passed, you just wait.

If you go to the Order Details for this transaction you will see the estimated delivery date. Once it is one day past that date, you can open an Item Not Received refund request. The Seller will then have three business days to respond with either a valid tracking number showing it's in transit or a full refund. If the Seller does not respond on time, on the 4th day go back to your request and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.
You would need to open that refund request on eBay to start the refund process. Keep in mind there are weather delays in much of the United States.

OP8 months agoHello, thank you for the fast reply and for your good advice. The item was to ship several days before the storms and is only coming from one state away, which with everything else I’ve ever ordered, is only a one or two day maximum time in transit. I will follow your advice and the steps you provided and I do appreciate your help. Thanks again
