Question about selling limit with ebay store
Hi, I am a new seller. I have opened a store with starter store subscription. My understanding was I can list up to 250 items for a month with this subscription. But I am not able to list more than 5 items as it says I have reached my selling limit. Can someone clarify this to me? Thanks

OP6 months agoThank you so much for providing all the information. I will contact to cancel my subscription. SO basically the new sellers don't need to open a store until they establish. I wish it is explained clearly to new sellers. As you mentioned who reads the terms and conditions. When I tried to cancel my subscription, it showed the following message about what benefits I will miss.
You'll lose access to exclusive benefits
This is again confusing and not applicable for new sellers until they are established. I also feel having to list only 5 or $500 is very less for a new seller to establish. As a new seller I want to list more to showcase my items I have and create interest in buyers to go to my store. I also used to buy lot from ebay and I always wanted to see more items in sellers store. This is my honest feedback. Thanks again for your help.

That is very misleading - you don’t get 250 fixed price plus 250 auctions - a starter store gets 250 total, assuming you could use them. Listing a discount on final value fees is also misleading - there is no discount on a starter store.
I don’t know it to be fact, but I have read one way to get a limit increase sooner is to try to list an item that would be above your limit - so maybe it is true since I see you now have 6 items listed 🙂

Mentor6 months agoSelling limits and store limits are different things, which is what confuses new sellers. No need to open a store until you are more established. As stated, a store will not override your selling limits.

Subscribing to a store does not change your personal selling limit.
You need to sell within your limits with no issues for a few months, then eBay will increase your limits.

I agree. This should be stated clearly on the comparison of benefits page. It is in the terms and conditions, which is alway a good doc to read. But really, who reads the Ts&Cs?
If you speak to customer service, you can probably get them to cancel your subscription before you're normally eligible for cancellation. You can then resubscribe when you can make better use of it.
