Question about questionable sale.
Okay so question for the room. Have an item that was listed for bids starting at $20. It’s been up for a while with no takers. Suddenly I get an offer for someone to buy it for $100. I initially thought it was a typo from the buyer and they meant $10. So I sent a counter offer with the same amount and a message to contact them and double check if it was a typo or not. To my surprise they accepted the counter offer and paid me all through eBay.
Buyer has 100% feedback and over 200. So no red flags from the profile or weird messages asking for separate payments, add gift cards, etc. plus the address seems normal.
So my question is what else do I need to watch for to protect myself before I attempt to ship this order? Like I said the item is paid for just stuck in the verifying loop so I want to hold off till that fully clears. Just the large amount paid feels very off.

What do you mean "just stuck in the verifying loop"?
Did you get the "ok to ship" notification from Ebay along with the buyer's shipping address? If so, now you ship. Make sure there is tracking on the shipment.
Good luck!

OP2 years agoSorry for the confusion on that. I mean the payment says it’s still processing through ebay, but it does say the buyer paid and is okay to ship.
