Question About eBay Authentication Guarantee Process and Tracking Data
Summary: sowegacollectables expressed concern about a valuable collectible card they had sold with an authentication guarantee. Although the item was marked as delivered to the authenticator, it was not yet marked as received in eBay's tracking. rfmtm advised that if the tracking and signature indicated delivery, there should be no immediate concern. Hello Support community!
I recently sold a very expensive collectable card that had the authentication guarantee attached. I promptly shipped to the authenticator address and included the evtn (the shipping label has that clearly printed).
The item was marked as delivered as of Saturday. Status was that it was picked up by the individual at the post office.
My issue is that the item is not marked as "received by authenticator" in the ebay tracking data.
Does this mean the authenticator isn't the one who picked up the item? Or that it was picked up on Saturday and thus needs additional time to register the item as received by the authenticator?
I'm very nervous as I thought I took all of the precautions. I insured the item at its full dollar amount (wasn't cheap) and requested signature.
Do I need to give it some time or should I start worrying now?

Mentor1 month agoAs long as you used the ebay label your good. They may just have mail held at PO for safety reasons. Always good to have the signature confirmation document just in case.

OP1 month agoYou were right it's marked authenticated today. Just needed to wait a bit.

Mentor1 month agoIf tracking and signature shows it was delivered to the address ebay provided, there should be nothing to worry about, so give it a few days.

Also I cannot for the life of me find the signature. I know signature required was enabled in the Ebay shipping UI but don't see any way to view the signature via tracking.
Edit: I found the proof of delivery form via the USPS tracking page. It's a web form that you fill in to have the confirmation emailed to you.
