Question about a policy regarding feedback
Around Christmastime, I received an email from eBay stating that 'a case is now closed on my behalf, and eBay said they paid the buyer and there was nothing I needed to do on my end'. The odd thing was this: I didn't even know a case had been opened, no emails from the buyer or eBay, just a note the case was closed.
I never heard from the buyer, nor did I know there was a problem. Move forward 3 months, I just received a negative feedback from this 'so called buyer'. The person signed up for eBay the same day he made the purchase, and apparently he didn't get the item, only I was never notified, as aforementioned above.
IF I had been notified the buyer didn't get the item, I would have refunded the person and he couldn't have left feedback. And if eBay paid him, how come he was still allowed to leave feedback? I have written to eBay twice, and all I get back is a 'canned version of the negative feedback won't hurt my sales' speech.
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED in eBay AT THIS TIME as I have sold over 8000 items in 7 years and have had positive feedback until this snafu which I had zero chance in resolving as I never knew a problem existed!!

·3 years agoThere is absolutely nothing wrong with the feedback the buyer left you. Your reply on the other hand violates at least one feedback policy (referencing eBay investigations and decisions) and paints you in a bad light.

Mentor3 years agoYou may want to actually speak with a customer service rep. At the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.
