Question about a listing I just posted
I am basically an eBay newbie. When I set up my first auction listing (now pending) I thought I made the shipping cost the buyer's responsibility. Now that I look at the listing, that doesn't seem clear. It just says "Shipping: US $4.75 Standard Shipping." Also, I assume $4.75 will cover shipping (the item is a pin) but how does eBay know that?

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer pays you the amount shown on the listing for shipping and you buy the postage. eBay doesn't know if that amount will cover the shipping - they show the cost based on the way you set up your shipping when you created your label. It looks like you used calculated shipping (which is good) based on the packaged items weight and size (so hopefully you entered those parameters correctly).
When your auction ends and you ship the item, don't just use a padded envelope. Be sure to first use enough bubble wrap so that that case won't break when heavier packages are thrown on top of it. Always package for extremely rough handling because extremely rough handling is normal handling.
