QR Code not ready when scanned by USPS
Summary: vger-speaks shared an issue about a QR code for shipping not being recognized by the post office shortly after creation. The clerk suggested returning the next day. jacbarcollectibles responded, explaining that it can take some time for the QR code to be reflected in the USPS system, though it usually takes about an hour.
I sold an item this morning and created the shipping QR Code. I was able to get it to the post office for a same day, about 3 hours after the QR was created. When the clerk scanned the code he said there is no association with the code ID. He recommended I come back tomorrow. Seems very unusual to have to do this. I would not want to run into this issue tomorrow and catch a snag with a late drop off. I was trying to get the item in the mail ASAP but this prevented it. Any one else ever have this occur?
Anything you can tell me is greatly appreciated

MentorAug 13, 2026 at 7:41 PMIt does take time for the QR code you purchase to be reflected on the USPS system and become usable. Although it normally takes about a hour to be reflected it can take longer if the USPS or eBay systems are having problems.
