Purchasing an item from Croatia from a seller with zero sales.?
Is it safe to purchase an iphone from a seller from Croatia that has zero sales on ebay?

A cellphone is one of those items I’d only purchase from a local store … since it’s a frequently scammed item, and I prefer to avoid unnecessary hassles.

OP2 years agoThat makes sense, but when looking at the ad eBay shows a "Money back guarantee" note on the ad so I thought I would take the chance..

Mentor2 years agoeBay's money back guarantee is quite good, but there are limits to it.
If your seller turns out to be a scammer, the scammer can do many things that can make it very difficult for you to get your money back.
And if you keep falling for scams and eBay keeps having to bail you out, eBay at some point may decide you are not a good risk, and eBay may decide you no longer qualify for its protection in the future.
So avoiding giving your money to scammers should be a concern.
If eBay did not have a money back guarantee at all, which seller would you buy from? That is probably the same seller you should be dealing with even though you do have the guarantee to back you up.
Save your money back guarantee protection as a last resort if there is a problem, rather than as something that allows you to take expensive risks you otherwise would not consider taking.

Mentor2 years agoGiven the option to purchase the exact same item from an experienced seller with a demonstrated track record of delivering similar items and who was located in your own country, why would you instead choose to deal with an utterly unproven seller located in a country far away if you did not have to?
