Mentor2 years ago@jachim82 Venmo is an OPTION you can choose at checkout but you don't have to use it. The seller will not know HOW you paid as eBay process the payment and sends the money to the sellers checking account.
If the seller is trying to get you to pay them with Venmo, or any payment method, offsite then you should report them as that's a MAJOR policy violation. Always pay using eBay checkout so you are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

eBay sellers do not set the payment method. The seller will never know how you paid.
If the item is listed here on eBay, then you pay through eBay checkout and you can use any of the payment methods shown on the listing - PayPal, visa, mc, discover, Apple Pay, google pay, or Venmo (most methods available on most items).
