Purchase stolen from envelope during transit
I just received yet another delivery of an empty envelope that was supposed to contain a purchase that I made of a 90’ Topps Griffey Coin that was apparently stolen from the envelope during transit. The end of the envelope was clearly spliced & the item was discernibly squeezed out as evidenced by the circular impressions left by the forced removal. The item was low dollar & no tracking was provided by the seller so I can’t report the theft to USPS. Immediately reached out to the seller & don’t think he’s responsible in this instance, though I haven’t received a reply as of yet. What can be done? Messed up part is, I made the purchase on the rebound “after†previously purchasing the same 90’ Topps Griffey Coin from a different seller that was also missing from the envelope upon delivery. Twice in a row I received an empty envelope (void of the purchase) that was supposed to contain the same item from two different sellers that I purchased two different times. Sounds crazy, but it’s the honest to God truth. Losing confidence in placing orders if I don’t receive what I pay for.

Mentor2 years agoThe squeezing out could be the sorting equipment, not a thief. Contact the seller and explain that you will open a not as described return for the empty envelope. He really should just refund your payment, since eBay will make him spend $4 to send yo a label to send the envelope back to him. Send him a photo of the envelope.
If he sent it with the special eBay label, then he is covered for the loss.
Is this coin thicker than real coins? Coins can be sent with the special eBay envelope, I’m wondering if this Topps coin is too thick to go through the high speed equipment.
If the seller hesitates to refund you, open a return request -

The seller has 3 business days to send you a return label or a refund. If he doesn't, or says he can not send a label, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
