OP2 years agoDid that a couple of years ago. It did list all the purchases , but no totals. I'll have to break out the sales tax after adding everything up. Unless... they've updated the reports usefulness.

You can copy all of the data and paste it into a spreadsheet with a just few clicks, where you can do all of the math you need.

I did download my transaction history for the calendar year 2023 and there are no tax details on the purchase history report (just as you noted from prior years). Returns and refunds are not in that report either, but they do appear in the "disputes and refunds" report. Nonetheless, because there is an item cost and a shipping cost, and because I can subtract my refunds, there is enough information for me to apply my local tax rate to determine the amount of tax paid on my total purchases. It's just a matter of adding up all the columns in the report and applying the rate.
That said, I am not in one of those complex states with tax holidays and tax exempt clothing, so mine is a fairly simple application of my sales tax rate.
I next looked at my online Purchase History for the prior year, and if I go into the "view order details" of every single purchase, the sales tax is displayed. It would be quite a chore to collect all the data manually, but it does exist.

OP2 years agoSo nothing has changed. Oh well. Still don't know why we're charged tax on shipping. USPS doesn't charge tax. Thanks again for all your help.

Tax on shipping has nothing to do with USPS by itself. Tax on shipping is based on your own state's sales tax laws.
Some states tax shipping and some don't, or some have a mixed bag like my state of California. My state requires eBay tax shipping only if it includes a handing fee or if transported by company truck, but not if shipping is the exact amount charged by a common carrier like USPS.

eBay does not have any standard reports on purchases. You can order a history report - just specify the date range that you want. Go to account settings >> request your eBay data.
