Purchase Item and seller stated the listed priced was wrong.
Well I ran up on a deal for some lights and purchased, I just received an email from the seller stating "
Dear customer, our store system malfunctioned last night and the price is wrong. If you still want this product, you need to pay the difference of $140 (we have applied a 5% discount for you). If you do not want the product, you can apply to cancel the order and we will approve your application. We are very sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you" Is there anything I can do or do I just have to cancel the order due to their mistake, because the only reason why I purchased from them was because of the price?

·11 months agoDo not request the cancellation. The seller is not allowed to charge you anything additional over what you already paid, and they are trying to get out of their obligation by having you take the blame for cancellation.
One of two things will likely happen.
1. They will end up cancelling the order without you requesting it. They can choose from one of three reasons: “Buyer asked to cancel†(clearly that would be false), “Problem with buyer’s address†(presumably false), or “Out Of Stock/Damagedâ€. If they cancel for anything other than that last reason, you can report them for a false cancellation reason, just come back here for assistance. If they choose Out Of Stock, they’re already taking a hit to their seller metrics so there’s not really anything you need to do about that part.
2. They may not cancel, but instead just never ship the item. In that case, on the day after the last estimated date of arrival, go to your Purchase History and click the option that says you haven’t received your item. If they do not respond to that case with a full refund, you can go back to the case and ask eBay to step in and help. They will receive a very serious defect for that if so.
Regardless, you can report the message demanding more money. Assuming that was in your eBay Messages, go to the message and click the three dots in the top right corner to choose Report Message. You can also report the seller using this form: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/reporting-item-issue-seller?id=4022
