OP2 years agoThank you. I suppose I’d just be more comfortable, being able to speak to a live person, when spending $800. But, you’ve given me some helpful information. I’ve reviewed the seller, and their reviews. And there all between 95%-99% positive. Thanks again for your reassurance, I appreciate it so much

OP2 years agoThank you for responding. Is there a way to speak directly to an eBay representative, over the telephone ? I’m having considerable difficulties reaching anyone in person

OP2 years agoThank you. Perhaps I’m being overly cautious but, as I said, I’m unfamiliar with eBay and this is nearly a $1000 purchase. I’m just trying to be certain before proceeding

Mentor2 years ago@waedw9357 I totally understand wanting to be cautious, I just am not sure what else you expect eBay to tell you.
The only other advice for not having your money tied up waiting for a refund is to check the sellers feedback page and see if they have sold other similar items. Or have a good selling history. Also check the profile page to see what country the seller is located in. If they are located in China and selling designer clothing, shoes, etc... 99% of the time those items are fake. You are covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee though and just have to go through the process I described in my first post to get your money back.
Sellers pay return shipping and refund 100% when an item is not as described.

OP2 years agoI’m new to eBay and contemporary a purchase, amounting to $800. I’m trying to figure out what precautions eBay takes to verify sellers offer, ensure validity of purchase information given and ultimately assists in case of difficulties. I’m unable to reach a live person in order to ask questions. Can you please assist me ? Thanks ðŸ™ðŸ½

Mentor2 years ago@waedw9357 Welcome to shopping on eBay. Since eBay can not inspect a sellers merchandise they have the eBay Money Back Guarantee. The eBay MBG overrules a sellers return policy which is for buyers remorse returns only, doesn't fit, changed mind, found better price, are remorse returns.
If your item is not as described in the listing then you have 30 days from the date of delivery to file a refund request.
If your item is late arriving you can file a not received refund request when it's at least 1 day past the last estimated delivery date in your purchase history. You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to file a refund request for a not received item.
