Purchase Gone Wrong?
I purchased an item from a new user yesterday (0 feedback score). I am not saying that I am going to have a problem but I have not had any responses to my messages. Payment has been made through PayPal. The product has not shipped.
I am trying to determine my options if I get no response/shipment. How long do I wait? What are the next steps? Will I get my money back?

eBay says allow 48 hrs to respond.
Most sellers will respond but it's not a requirement.
Most sellers let you know when they ship but it's not a requirement.
if they use eBay labels you'll be notified when they ship.
Question-Why would you be messaging the seller so soon after buying? Wasn't everything you needed to know (like the expected delivery date), in the listing?

OP3 years agoThanks - those are good questions. I wanted to arrange a shipment to a specific address for my son.
I had also asked the seller a question prior to bidding without response.

·3 years agoTo send the item you bought to another address, all you have to do is change the "ship to" information when you're filling out the payment /shipment form.
If the other address causes the shipping and/or delivery date to change, make sure you are OK with the modified shipping cost and/or delivery time.
I do that for items I buy for a friend in another State.

Mentor3 years agoWhen you pay, there is an option to change the shipping address.
There is no option to change shipping addresses after you pay.
If the seller didn’t answer when the listing is live, the aren’t going to respond after it ends.
It was purchased yesterday. We are a long way from requesting a refund and a “Purchase Gone Wrongâ€.
The guy is new. He’s perhaps feeling a little overwhelmed trying to navigate his first sale. Multiple emails would further complicate matters.
I’m not sure why you bought something when you had unanswered questions, this was a new seller and you would need it shipped to a different address.

OP3 years agoI appreciate your candor although I think that’s a little harsh. It was the item that I wanted and the only one available. I do hear you and can certainly understand if it is overwhelming for a new seller. I am just trying to anticipate because something feels a little off…

·3 years agoIf they don't ship, a day after the estimated delivery date Ebay gave you, open an Item Not Received case.
Go to your purchase history and click I didn't get it in the menu next to the item.
The seller will have 3 days to provide a tracking number showing it was delivered or refund.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

OP3 years agoThank you for your input. The item picture was on a kitchen table, and the seller said they are from Virginia. After four days of not responding, they finally sent me a tracking number from ChinaPost. It has been four days and the tracking number is the only thing I have, no indication of shipment. For all I know this could be counterfeit. I paid through PayPal and I’m wondering how much longer I wait and if I will even be able to get my money back at this point. Any suggestions are appreciated

·3 years agoLook at your purchase history and see what the estimated delivery date is.
Nothing you can do until after that date.
A day after, open an Item Not Received case.
