Proper Description of Items on Auctions

I've been buying and selling on eBay since 1999 with very few problems or issues - could always resolve minor issues.  I recently started research to buy a Tenor or Baritone Ukulele - and was astounded at the variety of 4 sizes but also the many misleading descriptions.  I knew little about types and materials (Wood) - and soon found out the Solid Koa Wood grown is Hawaii is highly sought for Ukuleles.  So, looking at hundreds of auctions - I noticed many that showed Acacia for the top body, sides, and back - which is not specifically Koa of Hawaii but could be 1200 woods - but some were Acacia but now shown as such and some were misleading showing as Koa.  Some correctly showed Koa plus the other woods for Neck and other parts.   Also, I realized laminates were not the preferred construction  Many auctions did not list as laminates and after message contact was advised that, yes, was laminate (much less expensive & sound not great).  Some auctions clearly showed the alternate woods such as Mohagany, Cedar, Spruce, and the Whole Nine Yards.  But I think way to many listings are to mislead people - and price should not be the guide as prices can be all over the place. Sellers should advise buyers exactly the construction materials.  I realize this is so complex that eBay cannot pay as much attention to alternate materials - which significantly effect value - but maybe some guidelines ought to be instituted as construction is so greatly important in quality of sound of a Ukulele.  We can sometime know by brand and model, but then, Let The Buyer Beware as we have to go to review and Brand Sites to check out models which may differ in description than the info in auction listings.  This is so very important due to the wide range of values.
