promotions paused
i recently was told that i had my promotions paused due to 7 things in the past year was marked as "out of stock". me and the buyer was ok with the process but ebay said that it changed my seller rate. the only way to get my promotion status back is to get my percentage down....how am i going to get my percentage down when i have almost no sales now due to me not being able to promote my stuff / store. the "out of stock" items will fall off after a YEAR...i will have one fall off in november, but that wont even help if i have no sales to help my percentage. not sure how to fix this problem. i spoke with ebay and they told me to get my sales up and it would help with my percentage...how can i do that when my sales are constantly falling.....any suggestions?

Mentor1 year agoThat is the worst kind of Cancellation in the Ebay playbook. Mostly because of the negative effect it has on the buyer. They are very disappointed and it sometimes leads them to purchase elsewhere do to a lack of trust in Ebay and its sellers.
The first thing you should do is an Inventory of your stuff you are selling. Make sure you have it and it is still in condition to be sold. You do NOT want any more Cancellations because you are OOS. That simply has to stop. Now I don't mean that if you do have to cancel a sale that you fudge on the reason. That isn't good either as it is a policy violation and you don't want that too.
The way out of this situation is to be in control of your inventory you have listed for sale AND increase your sales transaction. Diluting the numbers is the way to climb back up.
You can run a Mark Down Sale you don't have to give your stuff away, but sell it at a reasonable discount where you can at the very least break even. Add listing that you know can sell really fast. Even at a break even price. The goal is more transactions and NO cancellations.
On another note. You have 55 listings for some craft patterns. You can sell those at a lower FVF if you use the categories available under CRAFTS instead of what you currently do under Collectibles.

I recommend selling items you have laying around such as DVD's or Books on penny auctions. You will lose money since they most likely will sell for a few cents at most but Auctions tend to show up better in search even when your listings are suppressed.
