Prohibited medical sale
I'm trying to list a SmartWatch for sale but it keeps getting rejected as a prohibited medical device requiring a prescription. This despite that I included a photo from the user manual specifically stating that it is NOT a medical device. It got accepted when I edited the listing but then I was notified about a half day later that it was removed and rejected. Any suggestions for how to get this to go through? It's no different than any of the many other SmartWatches listed.

What category are you trying to list it in? Watches?

Warning: eBay seems to have a history of flagging an item that has been taken down and a seller trying to relist it might have it taken down again despite how it is listed. Advice given to many Sellers over the years is if eBay removes a listing don't try selling it again on the venue, accounts can receive restrictions or suspensions in this scenario.

OP1 year agoThank you for the info, Mr. Lincoln. The listing path I had it in was: electronics>cell phones & accessories>SmartWatches. Do you think it would be more successful just listed under jewelry and watches? I have filed an appeal through the Resolution Hub and am waiting to hear back. Seems like a very unreasonable situation to me!

You are more than welcome. I had an Invicta 1959 Russian Dive watch removed once. I had it listed for a while and wondered if the reason it wasn't selling like the other Invictas was because most watch collectors knew Invicta was a US company and why would they be making Russian Dive watches in 1959??? I added one word to the title, "Replica" and eBay took the listing down. I came here and asked about it and experienced Sellers advised not to list it again. I didn't, I sold it on different venue. I know that is different from your situation.
Your appeal is for how you originally listed it including that category. You can certainly try listing it in a Jewelry category. I don't know how eBay's programming is set up or if that would cause another issue.
As a newer Seller you might just want to wait to see what if anything eBay says about the appeal. You certainly don't want to risk restrictions or suspensions on your account for just one item.
I have had a few other items removed over the years that did not violate policy. So when that happened I just took the items elsewhere to sell. eBay's sandbox, eBay's rules ... inaccurate and inconsistent as they may be at times.
