eBay recently contacted me to remove my listing of a cloisonné snuff bottle due to its connection to drug paraphernalia. Yet there are dozens of listings of snuff bottles for sale. I am fine if the rules apply to all sellers. Obviously this is not the case.

For many many years this same scenario plays out internet sales venues. We see it all the time here, one Seller has an item taken down and others have that same item for sale. Whether or not the other Sellers have theirs listed incorrectly to avoid scrutiny is unknown. You have the option to use the Report item link on other listings.
I had some things taken down over the years that did not violate policy so that's the flip side to the situation. Each site monitors listings differently and eBay seems to be moving towards more of a computer controlled environment.
