Products made of cast aluminum
Should I be allowed to return a product made of an aluminum casting that has defects that are objectional to me based on my visual determination only?
In fact, aluminum castings are normally imperfect. There are a number of known types of casting defects that may be seen in the surface of an aluminum casting that are the result of the casting process. Manufacturers strive to produce castings that are as good as needed, or required, but still there may be falloffs of lower than good quality resulting from the manufacturing process that get through to the end buyer. Buying any cast product, then, is inherently difficult for this reason.
When faced with this situation, I believe I should have the right to return any cast aluminum product whose quality I do not want to accept. Is that situation covered by the eBay return policy?

·2 years agoIf there are flaws in the item that are not shown in the photos, then you might be able to return on that basis. However, if you know that you are being pickier than accepted standards, it would make sense to communicate with the seller before making those types of purchases (and at least work out an advance remorse return option if the seller does not already accept returns).
