product safety issue
Purchased 3x mini humidity meters in Oct 2023, got message from ebay saying there is a safety issue with product and not to use them. They did not say what the issue is. Contacted seller to find out what is the issue is, they didn't know . Anyone had the same problem?

Did the message say which dept. or organization issued the warning? If it did you can probably look up their site and once you have that, do a search on it giving the Mfr.'s name and product model number, to find out why a warning was issued. Since you bought the meters in October, your 30 day after receiving the items, money back guarantee time frame has lapsed.
Many times sellers are not aware of warnings being issued for items they have sold. If the seller is based in China, or drop ships from there, they would not receive the notice at all. The Mfr. might be notified, but won't pass the info on to the sellers of the items.
If the meters are battery powered, open the battery compartment and check the batteries to see if they are lithium ion ones. A lot of products have had warnings issued because of the fire hazards associated with lithium ion batteries, especially rechargeable ones.
