Product Ratings
I purchase a lot of used or old car parts that should not require Product Ratings...they are what they are.
I have no problem leaving Feedback for the Seller, but refuse waste my time doing Product Ratings!
If this policy continues, I will not leave ANY Feedback!!
Does anyone else share my thoughts?

The prompts for a product rating that I've seen consist simply of placing a checkmark on the page. If that's too much of a burden, or more likely not applicable, you can ignore it and go directly to leaving feedback. When that "rate the product" was first introduced, you would have to make a rating selection or eBay wouldn't let you pass on to the feedback part, but eBay caught so much heat about it that they made it optional.

OP8 months agoThank you for the reply, but I have not seen such a check mark available. Would appreciate a Screen Shot so I know what to look for. Other posts that I have read state that the Review is now mandatory or you cannot move to the Seller's Feedback.

It would have been my pleasure to oblige the request, but I would need to have a purchase to leave feedback for. As it turns out, I did leave one feedback today, but maybe the feature is limited to certain types of items, although it is hard to believe that eBay would incorporate such an "if ... then" sort of condition in the algorithm. The item I left feedback for today was a paperback book, and there was no place to "rate" it on the leave feedback page.

OP8 months agoSo basically you are commenting on something you know nothing about. I have been on this platform for over 15 years and can tell you that this is the first time this is required and cannot be bi-passed.
My simple solution is to not longer provide feedback. Makes my life easier but is contrary to Customer Interests.

Where did that come from? I know plenty about it, and I have plenty of experience with that "rating" thing, as I've already explained. I can't answer every single question you can imagine, because eBay doesn't take me into their confidence regarding the proprietary aspects of things they do. And if they did take me into their confidence, I would be bound by a NDA.
My intention was to keep an eye out for it on future feedbacks I leave, then, someday when it happens to be on the page, to take that screenshot you asked for and send it to you. I say "was" because in light of your skepticism – misplaced skepticism – I've started wondering if it would be worthwhile to go to the trouble, or even appreciated.
