Product Defects Discovered After Use
I purchased a pair of shoes. They were delivered on-time and appeared to be free of defects. The seller said they do not accept returns. The first time I wore the shoes they cracked in half. Obviously they were defective, but I didn't know until I wore them. How do I get ebay's guarantee to cover the cost and get my money back? The automated agent has not been helpful and I need to speak with a live human being

Mentor2 weeks agoIf it is less than 30 days from the receipt of the shoes you can file a claim for not as described/defective.
If your item you received is not as described, you can request a return for a refund by following these steps:
Go to your Purchases and find the item.
Select Return this item and provide details about the problem.
If your return request is accepted, you will get instructions to send the item back—make sure to ship it by the requested date and use a tracked shipping service.
The seller may offer you a partial refund and let you keep the item, or offer a replacement or exchange instead of a refund. The seller may deduct from your refund if the returned item is used, damaged, missing parts, or damaged during return shipping due to improper packaging.
If the seller doesn't respond or resolve the issue after 3 business days, you can ask eBay to step in and help by going to your Purchases, selecting See return details, and then Ask eBay to step in and help.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedIt's a loop. When you ask ebay to step in, it takes you back to the same original menu. What I'm asking is whether there is a way to break out of the loop? Essentially, I'm going around and around in a circle.
