Problems With UPS
I just had another incident with UPS. I weighed a package at right under 12 lbs., so I rounded the weight up to 12 lbs. After shipping, UPS came back and said its 20 lbs. and added $18.00 to the shipping cost. I know for certain that my package was right under 12 lbs. UPS closed the customer counter in my city for whatever reason. Now we have to take our packages to an 'UPS Access Point'. In my end of town that is a CVS pharmacy. CVS has no scale and does not give a printed acknowledgement the drop off.
I had another incident where I dropped off a package at the UPS customer counter, when they used to have a customer counter. Later, they added $14.00 to the shipping charge. The package was a small package containing software (CDs). Long story short, there is no way there was any reason to add $14.00 to the shipping.
I had another incident where UPS changed my credit card twice for the same shipment.
I am now going to use USPS and FedX all the time if I can. They both have scales where I can get the package weighted at drop-off and get a printed acknowledgement.
I understand that there are problems with any company, but I am posting this here so that others know what is going on. If you are having the same kinds of problems, please make it known by posting your problems here so others know about them. This may be the only way to make UPS wake up. If there is a pattern of problems, spread the word and use other shipping services.

Mentor8 months ago@tjokeefw Are you placing the item in a plastic bag, that is an automatic surcharge for Fed Ex and UPS.
Fed Ex is even worse for adding surcharges.
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the UPS customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this. Keep in mind that UPS does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the UPS website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
