Problems with customer service
Summary: curtsens0 is frustrated with eBay's customer service, unable to process a return due to persistent website errors. They feel that eBay no longer provides effective customer support, contrasting it with a positive past experience. Despite suggestions from eburtonlab and mam98031 to use social media for support or request a callback, curtsens0 reports all attempts have failed, leading them to prefer alternatives like Amazon.
I've been trying to return something on eBay for days now. The website always says. "Something went wrong. It's not you, it's us. Go back and try again"
I went back and tried again probably a hundred times and it always says the same thing. I've tried to contact eBay for days but everything just sends you in circles. I've seen where other people have had similar problems and asked about on here, but never got satisfactory answers.
I have always used eBay a lot more than amazon because I thought I liked it better. Due to eBay's complete lack of any kind of customer service that is changing today! Go Amazon!

You will likely have to contact eBay directly for help with this transaction if you can see the transaction in your recent purchases but the link is not working for you.

OP3 weeks agoThanks for trying to help, but nothing has worked so far. Several years ago I bought something that wasn't delivered and the seller didn't respond to messages. I went online and reported my problem. an eBay CS rep called me back the SAME day and got things taken care of nicely. Now eBay apparently has NO customer service reps.
I have never used instagram so likely won't be trying to contact them that way...

OP3 weeks agoI would like to contact them directly, but can't. That is what the problem is. In this case if I can't return the item, it's only $100. But the fact that there is absolutely no customer service is why I am going to be slow to buy anything expensive on here from now on.

Mentor3 weeks agoSure you can. Because you don't know how does NOT = you can't, it means you simply don't know how. While all the info below is important, if you drop all the way to the bottom there is a link where you can ask Ebay to call you.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT or ask an Agent to call you, in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

From this link you can request Ebay to call you in the USA. The option is available when Staff is available to respond, so NOT 24/7/365.

Mentor3 weeks agoSo you are saying that Social Media is non responsive as is the link to have a CSR call you? You would be the first I've ever heard that of happening with. I am sorry you can't contact Ebay directly. I honestly have no idea as to how to help you. I wish you the best.
