Problem with a seller
Has anyone else had problems with a seller when you leave them a negative review. I am having a problem with this currently. I do not want to call out a seller by name but here is the situation. After leaving my honest yet negative review they insulted me in their response to my review and did not address the issues within my review. Which I believe to be a violation of community standards. If you look at their responses to other negative or neutral reviews the pattern is much the same. Insulting the buyer and then stating that the buyers account is now somehow limited. I have reported them to eBay for help with the issue. Any suggestions? Should I call out the seller in this public forum?

There is nothing you can do. The seller was a bit snarky in their reply, but it does not violate Ebay feedback policy.
No, you cannot "call out" the seller in this forum. To do so would be a violation of the community guidelines.

OP1 year agoNot "snarky". Insulting, false, and questioning/threatening my standing on eBay. Are sellers not held to the same standards as buyers? Is there no policy for their response to feedback?

Mentor1 year agoOnly actual feedback has policy rules. Responses to feedback do not have the same rules to follow as long as they do not actually threaten you physically eBay will do nothing. There is nothing in their response that threatens you at all. Just some pointed remarks that could be taken as being hurtful.

OP1 year agoThanks for the information. I have reported them to eBay and have asked to reopen my return. Guess I'll let eBay handle it from here. If eBay does nothing I will take this as a lesson in buyer beware.

If you filed a Return Request, but it was closed, it cannot be reopened.

OP1 year agoI have found that out the hard way. That is another reason I have reached out to eBay, to see if they would be of any help, as I was pushed to close the return by the seller. If there is no resolution it will be a lesson to me in buyer beware.

Never let a seller lie by telling you that you have to close the Return Request.
ebay cannot reopen the request for you.
Sorry you encountered a bad seller.
