Is it possible you purchased the item using another eBay account? Or as a guest?
You must be signed in to the account you used to make the purchase to find the transaction in your Purchase History. If you purchased as a guest, you must sign out of your current eBay account to use the "order details" link in the email you received from eBay regarding that order.
