Problem paying for an item

I trying to bid on an item but can't because I have a restriction as I failed to pay for a couple of items within the required time. The reason for this was down to ill health as there have been times when I was confined to bed and was unable to keep up with emails and ebay, the online help chat isn't helping

The reason for this was down to ill health > Your restriction due to non-payment was not imposed by a human making a value judgement. The computer program that is eBay, "saw" that you didn't pay, and that was all she wrote. The good news is that when the older of the two strikes ages off twelve months after it was incurred, only the remaining one will count and your restriction will be lifted. This is assuming your health holds up well enough that you don't get an additional non-paying buyer strike(s) in the meantime. I've heard of customer service interceding to forgive one strike per lifetime. I don't know whether or not they still do that.
