Pressed "buy it now" recieved a notices-
Summary: 4uttons reported receiving an ITAR-related error message when attempting to purchase firearm-related items. selforfun mentioned that many users have encountered the same issue and suggested that it's a known technical problem being addressed by eBay. eburtonlab noted that some users found the issue resolved, encouraging another attempt. 4uttons later confirmed that the problem seems fixed, as they successfully purchased an item without receiving the error message.
on three firearm related items- a trigger, a folding stock, and a wooden stock.
"This item isn’t available in your location as it may be regulated by Part 121 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Only U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. can buy this item. See our Military items policy for more information.{e297192-1263028x}"

At least some of the users experiencing this issue yesterday have said that it has since started working again, so if you have not tried recently, it might be worth a try once more.

OP1 week agoI tried a "buy it now" on an aftermarket 10/22 trigger group and I didn't get the
"e297192-1263028x" denial. I assume this issue is amended, and thanks for your help.

There are several reports this week from both buyers and sellers receiving the same ITAR message on firearm-related items, including the exact error code you received:
e297192-1263028x
One member in the current Technical Issues discussion also reported that eBay Customer Service told them this is a known issue that is being worked on.
Since you have purchased similar items recently and are now seeing the same message on three different items, this appears more likely to be part of that current issue rather than something unique to your account.

I would also report your experience to eBay and include the exact error code so they know you are being affected as a buyer as well.
