Preorder scam
So I ordered an anime figure from a seller in China who specializes in pre-orders in Feb 2024. He said that since the item would not ship out until October of thst year, that I would have to mark the order as delivered before getting it since ebay doesn't allow items to take that long to arrive.
After reviewing his near perfect rating and reading buyer reviews, I decided to trust them and marked the package as delivered. (Yeah my mistake)
October passed and no item. So i messaged them asking about it, and they told me it would be December. OK, no big deal. But now it's May of 2025 and still no package. So today I went to message them to ask about it, and it now looks like they blocked me.
Ive tried reporting it, but since its been marked as delivered, the AI agent (can't get a real person) won't help me since it says theres no outstanding orders on my account.
Is there anything I can do? I have chat screenshots of our discussions about the shipment from before they blocked me. Or I'm I just out $458? 😞
Thanks for any help!

Mentor1 year ago@chasecougar Per eBay Policy sellers must ship presale items within 40 days of the date of the sale.
Pre Sale Policy
You have only 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to file a not received refund request on eBay. The bad seller knew this.
Your only option now is a credit card chargeback if it's not too late for that too. 😞
You can report the seller for violating the Presale policy but it won't get you your money back
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies> other
Then state the seller violated the Presale policy and share any other information in the box.

Unfortunately, you're far past that date now.
Most credit cards offer at most 6 months to dispute a charge, so you're likely long past that date as well.
In the future, I would recommend never ordering anything on eBay that is not intended to be delivered within 30 days of the order date, just to be safe. That seller violated eBay's pre-sale policies and you can report that, but at this point it won't do you any good personally.
Sorry you had to deal with a dishonest seller like that! I wish I had better news for you, but I'm not aware of anything you can do at this point in time.
