PRE SALE ITEMS LISTED
Summary: jbf20578x3v expresses frustration with pre-sale items on eBay, noting frequent discrepancies between the promised and actual delivery dates. They question if it's possible for eBay to enforce a rule requiring sellers to have items in their possession before listing them. They seek advice on how to contact eBay about this policy change and acknowledge a typo in their message with a follow-up note.
I've finally hit the wall with items that are listed as pre-sale itemsaI've finally hit the wall with items that are listed as pre-sale items. I understand the concept but I have had enough. I make purchase, then the “delivery date” is updated to some date that is nowhere near the original listed date. I’m done. I won’t order anything that is listed as a “pre-sale”. That being said, is there any way to convince eBay to not allow a listing of any item unless the seller has the item(s) in their hand? Period. No listings that say the seller has a confirmed order. If they do not have it, they cannot make the listing. Does anyone agree and who do I contact at eBay about this? Thank you.

eBay's Presale Policy
allows sellers to list items that they do not have yet but MUST ship within 40 days of the date sale or they are in violation of the site rules.
I agree with you that the seller should have the item on hand before they list it for sale but unfortunately eBay isn't going to change the rules.
You can file an item not received refund request when it is ONE day past the LAST estimated delivery date in your purchase history, not some date the seller mentions in the description. You only have 30 days from the last estimated delivery to file a claim on eBay however if you pay with PayPal they allow 180 days from the date of sale.
