Gonefishing4tuna thought he found antique gold at an auction, but what he actually found was a pile of defective and used junk. He assumed that because his collector knife blades were shiny, that they were NOS. And by extension, everything else in the lot must be NOS. The Boker 9229 blades in the image are defective rejects. That inward sweep on the edge of the main blade shouldn't be there. I first confronted this seller about the issue of pocket wear on the Boker shields he was selling as new (what he calls "emblems" or "medallions"). In his opinion, this was the result of error stamping. I showed the images to another collector and he barely had to glance at them. It's obvious when you know what you're looking at.
Then the seller asked me for my opinion. Once I gave it, I didn't hear from him again. He blocked me.
(I later found out, from another seller, that my suspicions were correct. His Boker merchandise actually came out of the Boker factory repair shop. The repair guy was taking his work garbage home with him. He wasn't stealing from the company like this seller would have his customers believe)
He blocked me from purchasing his shields so that I couldn't leave feedback that would expose the lie (after all, he only had half of them sold at that time). Crazy thing is, I was really interested in the shields he was selling (but not at the NOS price). Even with a second account, I could only have made one purchase every ten days because of him blocking me. He totally robbed me of an opportunity that will never repeat itself again, just to cover a lie. And that's the most disappointing thing about this mess and this seller.
eBay won't even do anything about it because he's a power seller.
