Potential Buyer Fraud
I've sold a high value item. It took the buyer 3 days to pay. They initially responded that their card was declined due to travel. I was going to cancel the sale but they successfully paid for the item. Since it has an Authenticity Guaranteed by eBay it is being sent to an authenticator before forwarding to the buyer. The buyer's email address is a weird ebay email. I'm concerned that this item was bought with a stolen card and I will lose the item if I ship it. I want eBay to investigate the buyer, but cannot successfully contact their fraud department. I have until tomorrow to ship it. I need help verifying that this customer is legit. What are my next steps?

Actually, unless you sold the "high value item" on a different ID the last sale shown on this account is on October 14th and was not high value. However, it is possible the eBay has not yet updated your Sold item record so it is not visible to other users yet.
eBay to my knowledge has no "Fraud department" but they do have a Trust and Safety department which is the one you want to speak to.
-You can request a call back from eBay during west coast business hours here: eBay Customer Service
-Contacting eBay via Social Media:
Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

OP10 months agoHello, yes. This is my personal account. The order that I sold is 20-13739-46348. The account is zencollectiblesllc. Would it be helpful to re-open this question under that account?

No, not necessarily. You can still use the contact info I provided to get in direct contact with eBay. Their Trust and Safety Department can check the Buyer's information but will not disclose certain information about them.
