Posting a maximum bid
I post a maximum i will bid on an item. The auction closes bellow that maximum. I am charged the maximum I posted as a safety margin.

·1 year agoIf you are asking whether you are charged your hidden maximum bid or the final price, it is the latter (plus s/h and tax if applicable).
If you mean you think the final auction price is less than your full bid amount (hidden maximum) but you got charged more than that:
1. Check the final price again. If you were watching the countdown the "final" status at the end is often premature. Always wait a few seconds and then refresh before relying or getting attached to apparent "final" price. A bid received before the end of the last second is timely even though it wasn't processed enough to show up when the countdown script called for the "final' result.
2. Check s/h and sales tax.
3. If the above don't clear it up, what is the item number and how much and when did you bid?
