Postage due upon receipt - options ?
Got an item. Postage was due upon receipt. Contact seller. Seller seems to blame post office or (amazingly) me. What are a buyer's options at this stage ?..
Automated ebay help center says I can open a claim to either say "the item was not received" (but it was received - just with additional postage). It also says "I can return the item" (but seller does not accept returns + is not in a cooperative mood).
I have never needed to do this before - so any feedback would be appreciated.

I did pay the additional postage - I suppose I did not even know that I could've refused the postal carrier. I did explain the situaiton to the seller and I showed pics.
I then told the seller (quite diplomtically) that I "did not think I should've had to pay the additional postage as I already pid for the postage".
The seller has been atypically difficult - in ways that go beyond the mere additional postage. I am capable of leaving factual feedback and falls short of "personal rant".
The seller has also claimed that "if I leave negative feedback it will be removed bc he did nothing wrong and I have threatened him (I have not)" - which, if true, makes the feedback mechanism feel like something of a waste of time.
The experience has felt a bit disempowering - although I am relatively new to this and I am taking the word of an aggressive seller in terms of how this will play out.
Thanks again for your time.
