postage due
My last 3 purchases was bought as free shipping, But 2 came as postage due and no tracking number. Have had this happen 4 or 5 times last year. Why is this happening? Been a member since 2001 never had this problem before 2024. I guess buy local is the answer.

Mentor1 year ago@okiendn Sorry that this happening. Are you purchasing items shipped with the eBay Standard Envelope for items under $20 in select categories?

Mentor1 year ago@okiendn I was in a hurry yesterday and didn't elaborate. If you are purchasing items that are shipped with the eBay Standard Envelope
Then this usually happens if the seller made the envelope too stiff. It must remain flexible so that the tracking can be read by the sorting equipment to qualify.
Postage due is the ONE reason you can refuse a package and still be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
The buyer refused delivery of the item
Covered:
Not covered:
If a package arrives empty or was damaged in transit, the buyer should accept the delivery and report that the item doesn't match the listing.
If you refuse the package then be sure to ask the post office to make the tracking details show postage due and then you file a not received refund request.
You can share this information with sellers before you make a purchase to make sure they know how to package correctly>
eBay Standard Envelope is a Metered Mail shipping method and the tracking can only be read by the sorting equipment. You can't look it up on the USPS site like regular tracking you have to use this tracking tool> https://www.trackmyshipment.co/
For future shipments I recommend dropping your envelopes in the metered mail box at your post office.
You can also review this post by a fellow Mentor that has screenshots of proper packing as the envelope must remain flexible to be read by the sorting equipment.
