Postage cost increases for box sizes - issue not seen before in eBay labels
In preparing a USPS Ground Advantage label this evening, I unexpectedly found the eBay price calculator increased postage costs with incr3ase box size options well below the 'standard' 1 cubic foot (12x12x12 inch) (1728 cubic inch) size. Examples for a 3 pound, 2 oz box:
7 x 6 x 4 inch size = $7.26
9 x 7 x 5 inch size = $7.95
10 x 7 x 5 inch size = $8.95
10 x 9 x 6 inch size = $9.35
This is out of accords with standard USGS price guidelines - and has not previously occurred (that I've seen) in eBay labels. What is causing this big price increase for increased sizes from small to medium-sized boxes, well below the cubic foot size where USGS prices bump up? This will force me to estimate box sizes for ones I know will be below a cubic foot (and in the past would be consistent), since I don't box items in advance (and don't always know what the box size will end up being.

USPS changed their rates on Sunday (yesterday). Here is a link to eBay's announcement:
