Post office adjustment
I shipped a guitar controller through usps. This is the first time selling on eBay. The shipping was $50ish. The box was weighed at 4lbs 7oz on the scale. I purchased the postage label through eBay. Now I have a message saying the box weighed 16lbs and they’re charging me another $23. There is absolutely no way on this earth that a lightweight guitar controller and some styrofoam weigh 16lbs. How can I dispute this?

OP3 years agoI believe it was 35x13x6. The dimensions were listed when putting together the shipping label.

Not sure why they'd charge you more based on those dimensions since you said you paid $50 ish.
You'll have to dispute it with the USPS postal service since they are the ones that charged you.

Mentor3 years ago@pacnu This sounds like it might be a dimensional weight surcharge. If you enter the correct package dimensions when buying the label then you should have been charged based on the dimensional weight.
What were the package dimensions?
