possible scammer
I sold an auction that a buyer with an outside of US address won. (Though I specified "ship only to US" in the listing)
I sent an invoice to mail to this buyers address after estimating cost to send over seas. I messaged the buyer to indicate I'm awaiting payment.
In the meantime, I open source searched the address abroad and it is a self-storage facility. Addressed to someone other than the buyers name.
The buyer responded saying they need a US postage. I had asked they update their address to their US address. A day later I get a message that it was changed.
Now the address goes to a warehouse in Delaware. I'm highly suspicious of this buyer. First time I encountered this.
Will eBay ding my rating for cancelling on this buyer for non payment? Has this been brought up before? It feels like a scam.

OP7 months agoNevermind. They changed their address back to the UK address again. This buyer is playing games and I can't get a quick enough response from them.

Mentor7 months agoMany International buyers use Freight Forwarders to collect their purchases from US sellers and forward the packages on to them. This is totally eBay legal and the best part is you are only responsible until the item is delivered to the USA address. The buyer loses their Money Back Guaranty once the package is reshipped.
No you are not dinged if you cancel for non payment but you must wait at least four full days from purchase before that cancellation option appears.

I guess now I'm wondering how to redo the invoice so I can send it to the new US address the buyer provided? I tried going in to make the adjustment but it still shows their UK address as the shipping to.
