Possible scam: Bundt pan sellers from Asia/Pacific

Question

Are there a bunch of scammers on here trying to collect some information, or are they just horribly incompetent? I've had two bad experiences now buying bundt pans they say is Nordic Ware at low but reasonable prices. They show "XX units," most sold, one or two left. It seems as though maybe they bought out a bankruptcy inventory or similar and are unloading the merchandise. The surprising thing is that they say, "Free shipping." Both times, I got a song and dance and canceled orders. Poor thing...

Thank you. Would that explain why they don't take the listings down? The last time it happened, the listing stayed up for a week after they told me they couldn't ship the pan. This time, it's only been a day, but you'd think the minute they knew they couldn't ship, they'd mark the listing appropriately. In this scenario, does someone else control the actual listing too?

Hi @jjohnson2rud Itâ€™s more likely that the sellers are using a dropshipper and arenâ€™t being told when the items are out of stock in a timely manner.

@jjohnson2rud It sounds like they are drop shipping from the same supplier and the supplier is out of stock.

If they cancel as out of stock, as they are supposed to, then they received a defect on their account. Not too many defects and they are banned from selling on eBay.
