Possible counterfit
I weighed the 1 oz Silver Eagle and my scale put it at 24.4 grams. I checked the Silver eagle against a silver dollar 26.73 grams, the silver dollar weighed the correct amount. Is there a US minting I'm not aware of?

One troy ounce equals 31.1 grams. 24 isn't even close. Your scale checks out with the silver dollar, so I'd say there's something wrong with the Eagle. Did you buy it from a reputable American company?

OP2 years agoNo, just a seller on ebay. The seller had a short history, a cheap price, the more I thought about it, I thought maybe an oz of titanium. when the Eagle appeared I weighed it. I received a $10.00 refund. Now I realized I don't know what it is made of.
