Poor search engine
Lately when I search for something using two or more words the system seems to decide that as long as an item has at least one of those words it's a match s is iso I get flooded with useless results.

If you are using "Best match" sort order, try another sort order. Lately "Best match" seems to return many more less-relevant results than other sort orders.
Keep in mind that eBay considers keywords in the item-specifics, not just the title, when deciding whether an item listing is a match for your search.
In some cases, eBay may provide results that contain synonyms of your search terms, or eBay may even "correct" the spelling of your keywords. If you do not want any substitutions or corrections, try putting one of your search keywords in quotes to force eBay to return only exact, literal matches to all your search terms. You may need to specify the category, as using quotes or exclusions also disables eBay's automatic category navigation.
If none of that helps, what are you searching for? Someone may be able to suggest an alternative search to avoid unwanted results.
