policy violations???
I just had a bunch of listings removed for "counterfeit" policy violations. But I see hundreds of other people selling the exact same things. I have sold lots of these on ebay until just now.

This happens a lot and it is frustrating, but it does not mean eBay is accusing you personally of intentionally selling counterfeits.
Here is how this works:
eBay removes listings based on reports, brand enforcement (VeRO), keyword triggers, or automated sweeps. They do not remove all similar listings at the same time.
The fact that other sellers still have the same items listed does not mean those listings are allowed. It usually means they have not been reviewed yet.
Prior sales history does not protect current listings. Policies are enforced on the listing itself, not on your past success or feedback.
Many counterfeit removals are category or brand specific and tied to wording, photos, or missing proof of authenticity.
Re-listing the same item without changes can result in additional strikes, even if others still appear active.
What to do next:
Check the removal email or message in your eBay Messages. It will usually name the policy and sometimes the brand.
If the notice mentions VeRO, only the rights owner can approve resale. eBay cannot override that.
Do not relist the item until you understand exactly what triggered the removal.
Review eBay’s counterfeit and authenticity policy carefully:

If you believe the removal was incorrect, use the appeal option in the message, but only if you can document authenticity (receipts, invoices, provenance).
Important warning:
Repeated counterfeit violations can lead to selling restrictions or suspension, even if the items are genuine. Seeing others sell the same thing is not a defense eBay accepts.
