Please help me understand.
I purchased some jewelry from Ebay. The seller then sold me more off Ebay for over three thousand dollars. Once I read her feedback I decided to take the already received jewelry to a jeweler who checked it all out. It was all fake, not as the seller listed it as. But it was to late to return. I went to Paypal and filed a resolution claim, asking for them to help me get my money back as she never sent the last large purchase of the jewelry. I told her it was checked by a jeweler and she agreed to give me a refund but just never did.
Other then my ignorance in this matter I am asking if anyone knows about Paypal's policy about sterling silver jewelry?
Paypal told me that they do "NOT" cover sterling silver items or sterling jewelry at all and customers are not protected for these type purchases.
Has anyone had this issue and if so what did you do? I can't afford loose $3,112.00 dollars.

Mentor1 year agoIt sounds like you have a couple of different issues.
If you did not get the items delivered to you, you should open a claim for "item not received"
Returns, items not received, and refunds for buyers | eBay
If the items you received are not as stated, you should open a return request and use the reason "not as described" or similar reason.
Returns, items not received, and refunds for buyers | eBay
If you bypassed eBay and went directly to Paypal to get resolution, eBay will not be able to help you. The payment source takes over the claim and case and eBay steps aside.
You have specific timelines to meet for these issues. 30 days after you receive an item to open a return claim and 30 days after the expected delivery date to open a claim for not received.

OP1 year agoThank you for your response.
The first purchases were fake, the second purchase was off eBay. Sometime I get confused when trying to explain things. I did file a resolution on Paypal but they claim they do not offer protection for any sterling jewelry or sterling items at all so they declined it. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen where Paypal does not backup the purchase simply because it was sterling.

Mentor1 year agoHere is the paypal purchase protection. I don't see anything about sterling.
PayPal's Purchase Protection Program
did you try reaching out to Paypal to ask them? You should be able to call them. Log into your account and follow the prompts.

OP1 year agoI know that is why I am asking, I read the entire page full of information and can not see where it says sterling silver or sterling jewelry is not purchased protected. I called and spoke to two different people and they both say that Paypal does NOT cover sterling silver of any type. That is where I am so confused, their printed words don't correspond with their verbal words, yet they denied two times my resolution request.

Mentor1 year agoBecause I can't see it does not mean it is not there.
Did you ask someone from Paypal to clarify for you? That would be what I would do.
