Please help from other sellers
Summary: fatherfinds has been a seller on eBay for five years, but recently experienced numerous challenges, particularly over the past year. Despite maintaining a high feedback rating of around 98.5%, they've been labeled as below standard due to alleged late shipments. They discovered discrepancies where labels indicated shipping from incorrect states, and faced issues with tracking numbers. Additionally, they encountered problems with USPS and UPS about incorrect charges and weight discrepancies, and faced customer service challenges and listing limits on eBay. They are seeking advice from other sellers experiencing similar issues.
So I’m a seller on Ebay for about five years now and the last year was the worst experience in the most stressful I’ve ever been. I don’t know about your sellers, but I take this stuff to Hart. I really care about my shipping my items my packaging my products, satisfaction from the sellers I love hearing positive feedback .
Well it was Mostly the last six months or so, but it all started like a year ago. When I got informed that my selling was below standard performance.. wasn’t quite sure what that meant, (mind you at the time I had around 98.5% positive feedback or so out of 400+ items I sold now it’s almost 600) and what I needed to do to fix it because it wasn’t quite explained clear enough to me. I just thought I had to do better and just wanna make sure everything is shipped out in time and packaged securely. So I figured out how to look at my late shipments on my dashboard today and seeing I have 40 late shipments which is 100% inaccurate. I looked into some of these shipments. So I reside in Pennsylvania, but some of them say the labels indicated they were shipped out from different states like Texas and Florida and others .!
I don’t know what to think of that and they’re saying that the shipper informed Ebay that the package was late because of my inability to ship it out in the handling time. And then other shipping labels just aren’t there like I click on the tracking # and search it, says there’s no label or nothing to show me and it could be because I never created a label and shipped it out or there could be a problem with the shipment. (DirectlyFrom usps website when I type in the tracking) Tracking Not Available Tracking is not available for this item. This may be because the tracking number is invalid;
USPS has not yet received payment; USPS has not yet received the item; the item does not include tracking; or other reasons.
I’m beyond confused my seller performance has been getting nailed because of inaccurate information from the Postal Service also, I was charged $14 additionally for a shipping label because UPS claimed i underpaid, that the weight was wrong but the weight they indicated was the same weight I had on the label same as where I put on Ebay when I purchased the label . actually it’s less I put 26 pounds and it was actually under 26 it was 25.63.
So customer service hung up on me three times tonight. Three separate agents .
Is anyone else having issues like this? Oh also, they restricted my items I can list per month so my dashboard says I have 250 items per month. I can list and I have 187 items left remaining. I’m listing items all day today I go to list one tonight, a more expensive item and it says I’ve reached my limit of 287 items. I’m sure you see the problem here what is going on?

Uploading tracking within your handling time, AND making sure it has a scan at the post office within your handling time.
You need 95% of your transactions with on-time tracking and scans.
✓ The package can arrive late, as long as you have the scan.
This is why many sellers take their packages to the post office and wait to see the scan done at the counter.
Cancelling a sale for being out of stock is one of the major defects on a seller's account.
You need fewer than 2% of your transactions to have defects, which are
✓ Transactions you canceled for being out of stock
✓ Cases closed without seller resolution
The only solution is to increase the denominator - the number of sales
One way to do that is to find something inexpensive to sell and list it very inexpensively so you sell a number of them quickly. That will raise the denominator and thus lower the percentage of defects.
Example
4 defects/ 100 sales = 4%
4 defects/200 sales = 2%
The consequences of falling Below Standard can include:
- Your items may be placed lower in search results
- eBay may limit or restrict you from selling on your account and related accounts, or from registering a new account
- Funds from your sales may be held
- You'll be charged a higher percentage rate for final value fees
--- You will be blocked from using the Promoted Listings tool, and will not be able to create new campaigns or edit existing campaigns
- eBay may downgrade your eBay Store to the Basic level if you've been Below Standard for more than 60 days
- You'll be unable to access the partial refund tool
"Your seller performance status is at risk in the US" means that your account is at risk of being closed or being assessed higher Final Value Fees due to problems in your sales.

Feedback means very little to eBay, it's the metrics that matter.
