Please help! Blocked IMEI?

Hi everyone I'm having a major issue. I bought an Apple Iphone 16 Pro Max off eBay that was unlocked back in September of 2025. Fast forward to Tuesday, May 26th of this year, the phone suddenly just went into SOS mode. I called my carrier to see what the issue would have been, and I'm being told that the IMEI is blocked for being stolen by AT&T. I recontacted the seller and they didn't feel responsible but told me they bought the phone from Apple and that it was paid off. I'm at AT&T now and they are saying the phone is pretty much worthless without the IMEI being unblocked. I pretty much am out $1200. What do I do ?

You only have 30 days from the date of delivery to open a not as described refund through eBay. Your only option is to contact your funding source and see how long their protection is. Most are 6 months but some are longer.

OP4 months agoI was gonna see if I can do that as well. But the seller isn't gonna be held responsible ?

With a CC charge back the seller will have to refund and eBay charges them an extra fee on top of the refund.
