Please help! Accidentally sent refund instead of canceling an order

Question

Hi, I broke an item while packing it up for shipping and instead of canceling the order, I sent a refund to the buyer. The problem is that the order is still appearing as awaiting shipment and I'm worried that a late shipment will effect my rating. I tried to cancel the order but it would not allow me to since I had already sent a refund. Does anyone know if it's possible to cancel a refund or what I should do instead?

Since you refunded first without cancelling, which would have done the refund as well, you will have to wait till the refund credit clears the buyer's account before you can go back and cancel. This can take days/weeks depending on how the buyer paid.
