Pixel 8 arrived DOA - Can't return it
Summary: car_307296 purchased a refurbished Google Pixel 8 from a certified seller on eBay, but upon arrival, the phone wouldn't turn on and had internal components rattling. Being an international buyer in Venezuela, returning the item is nearly impossible and costly. They have requested a full refund without returning the item and have yet to receive a response from the seller.
I bought a eBay refurbished Google Pixel 8 "Good" condition from a certified seller with 99.3% feedback and over 6,000 sales. I'm an international buyer living in Venezuela, so physically returning the item to the US is extremely difficult and costly for me, nearly impossible in practice.
When it arrived, the phone won't turn on under any circumstance, I left it charging for several hours with different chargers and cables with zero signs of life (no screen, no vibration, no warmth). On top of that, there are loose internal components rattling when I move the phone.
I opened a return request (reason: "Item defective") , and I messaged the seller explaining everything in detail, specifically asking them to issue a full refund without requiring me to ship the item back, given how defective it arrived and the real difficulty I have sending it back internationally.
I haven't heard back from the seller yet.
Any recommendations for this case?
