Pickup Only Item.....How is Pickup and Payment setup when you can't put any info in listing?

Question

I want to list a few items that are heavy and would rather list as Pickup Only. It doesn't appear clear to me how payment and setup of the Pickup is arranged. Am I missing something or is this just a nightmare to list "Pick Up Only" on Ebay?

Here's how it works

You list the item. In the description you can say a general area for pickup (middle of Anytown, USA)

The buyer buys and pays on eBay. Now you can communicate a specific location and if needed, exchange phone numbers.

The buyer will have a QR Code and a 6 digit numeric code from eBay.

When the buyer picks up the item, you scan the QR code to confirm the buyer got the item. If you can't scan a code, you type the 6 digit code.

You'll want to set the listing for LOCAL PICKUP only.

1) Turn Shipping OFF

2) and Turn Pickup ON

OR

1) Scroll to SHIPPING

(If it says "Shipping Policy" stop and come back to tell me)

2) Shipping method > choose "Local Pickup Only: Sell to Buyers Near You"

In your listing item description or checkout instructions, specify when and how the buyer can collect the item. Don't add your full address, just the area will do.

For proof of pickup you can use the eBay app:

- to scan the QR code the buyer received through email, or

- to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email
